As we head into a new month, I want to invite you all to join us for a four-week worship series, “A Disciple’s Path.” As a church committed to spiritual growth and renewal, we’ll consider what it means to be a maturing disciple of Jesus, and not just a church member. Are we responding to God’s invitation to grow in prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness? Does it matter? Why? We’ll tackle those questions and more together.
It’s amazing how many Gobin folks have memorized our mission statement: “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” And if our mission was to memorize the mission statement, we’d have done it! But, of course, it’s so much more than that! Our role as disciples or followers of Jesus, is to accept an invitation to abundant and meaningful life.
Discipleship at Gobin is more than marking oneself “busy” on Sunday mornings. We celebrate our mutual call into an entire life of worship, prayer, service, hospitality, and generosity. This new life is not a burden, but a joy. For the Sundays of November, we will take a deep dive into this life of discipleship. See you there!
