Are you on the Path?
Have you heard our mission? It’s been around for years. We seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Fair enough. But, I wonder if you’ve ever considered – how are we making disciples? What does it mean to be made a disciple? What is a disciple?
For just a couple years we’ve lived with a vision to be a spiritual community that is full of life by honestly sharing our whole selves with one another in relationship. I wonder if you’ve ever asked yourself where are those places? Where can I honestly share my whole self? Where can I experience relationship.
On September 8th we will take a big step toward answering so many of those questions. On this day we will launch our Discipleship Pathway. If we believe that a Christian disciple is a follower of Jesus whose life is centering on loving god and loving others, which I suggest it is, we need help in pursuing that goal and living into that reality. And so Gobin will offer a pathway of discovering, maturing, and focusing to make this vision a reality.
Our Pathway is designed for followers of all ages. There is an offering for every age group, from our nursery curriculum to our older adult studies.
For now, Sunday mornings will carry the weight. We will plan to begin with a community breakfast at 9am, for food and fellowship. Then, at 9:30am we’ll launch into our various groups.
So, for now, get used to hearing about the Pathway. Pray for this new season in the life of our church. Consider where you on the path, and where you are in your relationship with God. And begin scheduling for that 9 o clock hour on Sundays.
In the coming days we’ll provide information on the groups offered and where they’ll be located and all other logistical info. For now, let us celebrate all that God is doing in our midst.
